The Jharsuguda District covers an area of 2114 sq. Km. The Koilighugar waterfall is situated 55 km away from Jharsuguda in the Lakhanpur block near the village Kushmelbahal. Shiva’s Linga is in the water and is difficult to see in the winter. Guja Pahad is 60 kilometre from Jharsuguda 40 kilometre from Belpahar. Guja Pahad is situated in Tillia Gram Panchayat in Jharsuguda district and backside of Hirakud Dam reservoir. Its natural scenery, panoramic view create excitation and cheers in visitors mind. This hill area is always surrounded by reservoir water except in summer. In Guja pahar, at the top of the hill, there is a tunnel, one can come through up to the foot of the hill. A cave is also there, it is filled by dense forest. Ulapgarh hill forts is a hillock about fifteen minutes away from Belpahar Railway Station. It is said that the revolutionaries fighting in the freedom struggle of India took refuge in this hillock. There is some ancient script engraved on the wall of Bikramkhol and also paintings of animals. The replica of these inscriptions is seen at Odisha State Museum in Bhubaneswar. Bhalu Dumri is a small island located inside the Hirakud Reservoir near Lakhanpur. It is around 52 km from Jharsuguda town. Babadera Cave is located at the foothills between Bhaibahen Hill and Budhikuten Hill near Pakelpada and is about 45 km distance from Jharsuguda city. According to history, many years ago a saint used to meditate in this Cave. Every day the saints conduct spiritual ceremonies in the Cave in which nearby villagers come and participate. Therefore, it was later named Babadera Cave. According to locals, the Bavadera cave is located in the forest and was home to many wild animals, which are believed to have killed the saint.
