Devidwar Maa Ramchandi Temple is located on the banks of the Mahanadi River near the Gayala Bank, which is 20 km distance from Banki and 25 km from Cuttack. Maa Ramchandi is worshipped as the main goddess. In a side temple, the Trimurti (Brahma Vishnu Maheshwar), and in another temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped in the name of Lakshmaneshwar. As this temple is on the banks of the river, its environment is very peaceful. Seeing the beautiful view of the hills on the banks of the river from Gayal Banka Debidwar gives one a sense of peace. History of Debidwar Temple
This temple is associated with a mythological story. According to the temple priest, in the Treta Yuga, Lord Rama, Laxman and Maa Sita installed Maa Ramchandi here during their exile. Maa Ramchandi is a “Pratyaksha devi”, it is believed that worshipping her fulfils all desires. Dussehra is the main festival of this temple and on this day, a large number of devotees come here to have darshan of the goddess. There are many Pindis near the Debidwar temple for picnics. You have to pay Rs 400 for each pindi and there is also a provision of water and electricity for the feast.
