Bhimkand is about 30 km distance from Talcher and 50 km from Angul. It is situated on the right side bank of the river Brahmani in Kaniha ps of Talcher subdivision. The place is famous for the large carved image of Lord Vishnu in sleeping posture. The length of this image is 41.6, and the largest sleeping image in India and belongs to the 8th to 9th century AD.
