Budharaja Temple & Hill, Sambalpur

Budharaja Temple is located on a small hillock inside Sambalpur city. The temple is surrounded by forest and sits in the middle of Budharaja Hill. A Shiva temple is situated at the top, where Lord Shiva is worshipped. According to locals, the temple is about 600–700 years old and was built by the King of Sambalpur. Sital Sasthi is a major festival in Western Odisha, and it is celebrated as the main festival at the temple. On this day, thousands of devotees visit and observe the festival with great devotion. It is believed that there is a secret tunnel leading to the temple. Budharaja Mandir is one of the most famous temples in the Sambalpur district.
