Mandaragiri Hill (Chandra Bahala) is located about 10 km from Angul town. This small hill is a local landmark in the Angul district of Odisha. At the foot of this hill is a Shiva temple, a Ram temple in the middle, and a Rameswar (Vishnu) temple at the top. The name Chandrabahala hints at local devotional or cultural significance, possibly associated with a nearby temple or sacred site. There is a beautiful temple in the middle of the hill where Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Mata Sita worshipped. Lord Hanuman is worshipped within the temple premises. According to local history, this temple has existed since the time Lord Ram is believed to have spent some days on Mandaragiri Hill during his exile (vanavasa).
There is a Sri Aviram Paramhans Baba Matha near Mandaragiri hills. This Matha features a special Yagyan Mandap dedicated to Lord Shri Ram. At the entrance of the temple, there is a striking statue of a seven-headed serpent. Standing on top of the hill, you can see the entire beautiful city and the Derjang Reservoir. The peaceful atmosphere of this place attracts a large number of tourists to visit and have picnics. Especially on a rainy day, when the clouds touch the mountains, that moment is beautiful to feel. Mandaragiri Hill is a tourist attraction in Angul, Odisha.
