The Derjang reservoir project is 7 km distance from Angul. It is mainly used for irrigation purposes, which is the first medium irrigation project and a water reservoir. The construction of the project was started in the year 1960 & was completed during 1977-78. The dam is a zoned fill dam of length 1875m. and the maximum height of the dam is 27.31m. The top width of the dam is 4.57m. The Derjang Dam intercepts a catchment area of 399 sq. km. Derjang dam is a best places to visit in Angul District.
The dam is constructed across two rivers Lingara & Mathili and situated near Majhika village in Angul district.
