The dam has located at Saruali is 62 km from Deogarh Town. The dam was constructed by king Sir Basudeb Sudhal Deb in the year 1875. Saruali is a popular picnic spot, situated on the river Motuali. The dam wall was constructed with locally found rocks. Saruali spring is one of the popular tourist places in Deogarh, Odisha.
