Ushakothi Wildlife Sanctuary is located 38 km from Sambalpur town. It offers a natural haven for wildlife, including tigers, leopards, deer, sambar, spotted deer, elephants, and more. Visitors can enjoy close-up views of the sanctuary’s natural scenery and wildlife in their natural habitat. The sanctuary comprises parts of the Badrama Reserve Forests, Ushakothi Reserve Forests, Binjipali Reserve Forests, and Additional Kansar Reserve Forests. It lies to the west of the Hirakud Dam and is surrounded by moist sal forests and bamboo groves. Ushakothi Wildlife Sanctuary also forms an important part of the Sambalpur Elephant Reserve. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sambalpur, Odisha.
