Devkund Waterfall is a beautiful religious and tourist place in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. Devkund Waterfall and Maa Ambika Temple are located at the foot of Shimlipal National Park. Devkund is about 58 km distance from Baripada and 70 km from Balasore. They said that the goddess Sati, unable to bear the humiliation of her husband during the sacrifice of the Dakhya Prajapati, immersed herself. Angered by this, Sadashiva began to dance with Sati’s body. The trio trembled in fear. So the devotee Vishnu cut off the body of Goddess Sati through the Sudarshan Chakra to save Tribhuvan. It is divided into 52 parts and falls in different parts of India, and the goddess is worshipped in various forms. Devkund Ambika Temple is a famous temple in Mayurbhanj, Odisha.
History of Devkund Waterfall
Debakunda is the 51st seat of the goddess. Five tanks have come out of this place, which has been named the place Peetha Panchasagar. They are Bhudar Kunda, Taila Kunda, Haridra Kunda, Devi Kunda, and Dev Kunda. The newly established seven-headed serpent snake attracts everyone with its sprawling waterfall here. The place is nothing but full of natural scenery. It is a hilly place with a perennial waterfall that creates a pool of crystal-clear water. A series of waterfalls and Shakti shrines at Debakund are the main importance of the place. The natural stream, dense and thick forest, and high mountains attract thousands of visitors to see Devkund Waterfall and are also the best tourist places in Odisha.

- The travelling fee with a battery vehicle to Devkund Waterfall is Rs 50 per person.
- The entry fee for each bike is Rs 20.
- Devakund Temple and Waterfalls close at 4 pm.
- The tickets can be booked from the Similipal South Wildlife range side.
- Devkund waterfall is about 5 km away from the ticket counter.
- After climbing about 100 stairs, one can reach the Maa Ambika temple.
- The mobile network does not work near temples and waterfalls.
- You can picnic near the ticket counter or entrance gate, but picnics are not allowed near Devkund.
