Alkudar Waterfall is located in the Simlipal National Park, about 13 km from Jashipur Market and 108 km from Baripada town. There is good road communication near the falls, but after crossing the forest and hilly road about 1-2 km from the vehicle parking point, the waterfall is visible. The location is fantastic, and the dense jungle surrounding it is scenic and beautiful, with a wide range of flora and fauna. Alkudar Waterfall is about 300 feet high, cascading down a rock face. This waterfall makes natural crystal water where travellers often take a dip.
The picturesque scenery makes it a favourite destination for photographers. This place is very popular as a picnic spot, especially for weekends and holidays. The Simlipal forest around the waterfall is home to various wildlife and birds, making it an ideal place for nature walks and bird-watching. Carry food, snacks, water, and a first-aid kit. There are no facilities, such as food stalls and rest areas, but tourists are advised to carry bottled water and light snacks, especially for the trek.The waterfall is at its best during the pre-monsoon and just after ( October to March). The water flow is powerful, and the greenery is lush. Alkudar Waterfall is a tourist attraction in Mayurbhanj District.
