The Maa Maninaga Temple is located in Ranapur town, at the top of Maninag Hill, approximately 28 km from Nayagarh town. The goddess Mani Nageshwari is worshipped here on the Maninag Hills. There are also two sacred sites on this hill: Tala Maninag and Upar Maninaga Peetha. The temple was built by Lord Uddhav Singh (reigned 1328–1364 AD). Ranapur Hill is one of the most well-known hills in Odisha.
Mahashivratri, Navratri, Shri Ram Navami, and Syamakali Puja are the main festivals celebrated at this temple. On these occasions, a large number of devotees visit to participate in the celebrations. The Tala Maninag Temple is located at the foot of Ranapur Hills, while Ranpur is just 3 km away from the Mani Nageswari Temple. Another attraction point of Raj-Ranpur is the Maninag mountain, which is 70 km from Bhubaneswar. Hill View is very nice at sunset. The beautiful natural atmosphere and amazing hill view attract visitors. There are 17 ghats to go through to reach the top of that hill.
