Punjipathar Temple is located on top of a hill near Telipadar, about 8 km from Kantabanji and 83 km from Balangir town. Maa Banadurga is the main deity worshipped here. In addition, Lord Shiva, Maa Santoshi, and Lord Hanuman are also worshipped. Every year, a festival is celebrated here, attracting a large number of devotees who come to seek blessings.
The temple, situated within a forested area, is a beautiful destination for travellers. After climbing approximately 451 steps, one can reach the temple. According to locals, devotees used to place a coconut near the temple in the name of Dangar Budha Baba, and their wishes were believed to be fulfilled. During winter, a large number of tourists come here for picnics. Punjipathar Temple is one of the popular tourist places in Balangir District.
