Tikarpara wildlife sanctuary is 58 km distance from Angul and 180 km from Cuttack. It is situated at the side of the river Mahanadi. It is across a land 22 km long gorge is attractive for tourists. The dense forest, rich wildlife and crocodile sanctuary are the most important of the place. The name of this sanctuary has based on the name of the Tikarpada village.
