Silk City, Berhampur, Ganjam

Berhampur is located in the district of Ganjam and is 180 km away from Bhubaneswar, an old commercial town in the state. It is one of Odisha’s largest cities. It has been nicknamed the Silk City by some because it is famous for its silk saris. It is connected with the Southeast Coast railway line. The Southern Revenue Division at the state and other divisional offices is also located in Berhampur. The Silk City town is famous for silk fabric and brassware. It also has many temples and unique cultures. Goddess Budhi Thakurani is the enshrined deity of the city. Every two years, a great festival is held here called Thakurani Yatra, which witnesses a large number of crowds and devotees enjoying the festival. Berhampur is a tourist attraction in Ganjam, Odisha.
