Berhampur is situated in the districts of Ganjam and 180 km from Bhubaneswar, an old commercial town of the state. one of Odisha’s largest cities. It has been nicknamed the Silk City by some because it is famous for its silk saris. It is connected with the South East Coast railway line. It also has many temples and unique culture. Goddess Budhi Thakurani is the shrining deity of the City. Every two years difference a great festival is held here called Thakurani Yatra, which witnesses a large number of crowed and devotees enjoy the festival.
