Sitabinji Fresco Painting, Rock Inscription, Keonjhar

Sitabinji fresco painting is locally called Sitabanji. It is 25 km distance from Keonjhar town. A rock hill is standing here like the shape of a half-open umbrella called Rabanchhaya. A magnificent stone looks like a temple stands in a country yard with a height of approx. 150 feet high which is considered a major attraction of the spot. It contains the paintings of a royal procession which can be compared with the style of Ajanta & Elora. Goddess Sita is the presiding deity of the place.

During the month of Ashada on the day of raja, a festival is held here with much pomp and ceremony. Ladies desiring child worship Laba and Kusha and around two rounds of them. Sitabinji is very amazing and attractive to the visitors and also a picnic spot. A great civilization was flourished once upon a time as bricks & other antiques are earthen at the site. The latest remainings of the vestige of the history corroborate that of the golden era of the Gupta period of India.
