Bateswar Sea Beach & Temple, Ganjam

Bateswar Sea Beach & Temple are located near the mouth of the Rushikulya River in Ganjam district. Lord Shiva is being worshipped at Bateshwar Temple. The temple is surrounded by dense Casuarina forest, which is calm and pleasant. The main festivals of this temple are Mahashivratri and Kartik Purnima, which are celebrated with great zeal. Bateshwar temple architecture is beautiful, and according to local people, this temple is ancient. During excavations in 2016, a Parvati temple was found in front of the Bateshwar temple. Adjacent to this temple is a statue of Lord Shiva sitting in meditation inside the pond. There is a nice children’s park and a car parking place near Bateshwar temple. Bateswar Mandir is one of the famous Shiva temples in Ganjam District.

Another attraction of this place is the sea beach, which is located close to the Bateswar temple. This beautiful beach is very clean, with the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Casuarina forest on the other side. The ocean view at sunset is very beautiful.
