Bindhyabasini Temple is located on top of the mountain Bindhyabasini Hill and is 35 km from Bargarh Town and 4 km towards the east of Thuapali. Bindhyabasini, the goddess, is worshipped here. There is a Bindhyabasini mountain that exists near the village of Sankrida. The mountain covers an area of 200 acres along with 50 acres of pastureland at the foot. The villagers of Sankrida have donated 27 acres of land for the management of the rites and rituals of the goddess. Bindhyabasini Mandir is one of the famous temples in Bargarh District.
The main festival of this Bindhyabasini Tempe is Chaitra Purnima. The festival starts 5 days before on the occasion of Dashami and culminates on the full moon night. There is a tradition of animal sacrifice near Goddess Bindhyabasini. Maa Bindhyabasini Temple and mountain is one of the tourist places in Bargarh, Odisha.
