Jagannath Temple is located on Laban Giri Hill, 11 km distance from Jatni and 19 km from Bhubaneswar. Lord Jagannath and Mahadev are worshipped in this temple. Apart from Jagannath, Lakshmi, Maa Vimala, Hanuman, and Labaneshwar are worshipped on the temple premises. The Rath Yatra festival is celebrated with all the rituals of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. The temple is surrounded by a full-off cashew forest. According to the temple priest, this temple is more than 1000 years old. During Ashoka’s war, this hill was the resting place of King Padmanabh. Laban Giri Hill is an amazing place on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
On this Laban Giri hill, you can see the Dhauligiri and Gangua rivers. 23 years ago, the villagers built an ashram on this hill. Local people say that Mahadev, who worshipped on Labangiri Hill, was buried inside the mountain. In 2002, the Department of Archaeology excavated the Shiva linga of Mahadev; since then, Lord Mahadev is worshipped as Patala Phuta. The sunrise and sunset from Labanagiri Hill View Point are amazing. Labana Giri Hill is a tourist attraction in Khordha, Odisha.
