Huluhula Ganda, Sidheswar Pitha, Ganjam

Huluhula Ganda is a beautiful and peaceful natural spot located about 5 km from the Sorada–Daringbadi state highway and about 85 km from Brahmapur town. Surrounded by uniquely shaped rocks and flowing crystal-clear water, this hidden destination is perfect for nature lovers and picnic groups. The place lies along the Rushikulya River, where the river flows through large boulders and rock formations, creating natural swirls and deep water pockets. At one point, the river forms a dramatic “Z”-shaped bend of nearly 300 feet and drops around 30 feet, creating an impressive natural scene. The river narrows to about 20 feet at its tightest section, while during the monsoon it becomes much wider and more powerful. Over many years, the constant flow of water, along with wind and rain, has naturally carved beautiful shapes and patterns into the rocks, making the area visually fascinating.

Shree Sidheswar Pitha

A major attraction here is the Shree Sidheswar Pitha, a temple located beside the river. Nearby, visitors can also see Ram Padachinha, believed by locals to be the sacred footprint of Lord Shri Ram, which adds spiritual importance to this peaceful location. The temple complex also features a small ashram, a basic restroom, and a small park area, all of which are maintained by the local committee. The calm environment, fresh air, and soothing sound of the flowing river make Huluhula Ganda an ideal escape from busy city life. Many visitors enjoy stepping into the stream or taking a refreshing bath, though caution is advised, as some rocks can be slippery.

The spot is especially popular during winter, when families and groups come here for picnics. Cooking can be done on the riverbank, and basic utensils or supplies may be arranged from the nearby village if needed. Due to the limited space along the riverbank, groups arriving earlier typically secure the best picnic spots. Although the area offers incredible natural beauty, visitors are kindly requested to keep it clean and avoid littering. Plastic bottles, plates, and other waste can spoil the charm of this serene destination. Huluhula Ganda is one of the tourist attractions in Ganjam District.
